My love of desert plants and animals comes from growing up in Arizona surrounded by giant Saguaros and other amazing cacti. Living for years in Southern California near the Anza Borrego Desert solidified my interest in desert life. The plants and animals of the desert, including many types of succulents, offer me unique opportunities to bring more texture and detail into my watercolor paintings and pen and ink renderings.
