"I first saw 'Garden Delight' in the Morris Graves Museum. It was Arts Alive and I was entranced with the beauty and skill of the artist. My grandson was taking art lessons. He accompanied me to Arts Alive in Oct. 2007 when we ran across Karen's studio. I was so excited to see that she still had the piece and I could show my grandson how someday he might apply what he was learning. I knew at that moment it was 'fate' and I was meant to own 'Garden Delight'. I truly believe that no one ever really owns a work of art. It is has a soul of it's own and is only cared for. "My husband and I become very attached to our homes. When we purchased this home, we knew we would not live here forever, so I asked Karen to do a painting of our home as a Christmas gift to my husband. I had her do it in the fall because of all the beautiful Fall colors. The home looks like it should belong in New England in the Fall. The detail of the gazebo, birdhouses (made by my 90 year old uncle in Tennessee) basketball hoop, fountain, etc. was all very well done. My 3 year old granddaughter & 1 year old grandson live across the street have grown up looking at our house & this painting. They know where every birdhouse is and look at the painting at least once a week. This alone makes this painting priceless to us.
